We stayed 3 nights in Rabensberg, Thursday -Sunday. All tracks are in my Komoot Stoneman Miriqidi Collection.
This was just to get us to the start of the tour: from Rabenberg to Fichtelberg, our first checkpointi.
Our Day 1 tour started at the top of Fichtelberg, heading North via Bärenstein to Pöhlberg, where we had lunch, then on to Scheibenberg, Oberbecken Markersbach (the lake was hidden behind an embankment!), and on to Rabenberg.
A tough day, windy and cool, but fortunately dry.
Day 2 started in Rabenberg, with checkpoints in
Finishing with a ride back to Rabensberg.
Highlight was defintely the trails in Plesivec bike park:it would be a great place to practice technique... and have a lot of fun!
In our panic to get back before the thunderstorm started (unsuccessful - we got soaked!), we left Terrry's mobile on the checkpoint stamping machine: so after changing into dry clothes, we headed back to Klinovec in the Womo to look for it. Fortunately, it had been picked up by a Stoneman-perticipant, who, with the kind help of the lady at the Watchtower tickt office, we arranged to meet in Bozi Dar: the handy was recovered, and we got back to Rabenberg 5 minutes before the restaurant closed, and just in time to see the extra-time of the England-Switzerland EM quarterfinal: what a day!
Not quite as long as day 1, but with more trails. A lot of sun: the more tired we got, the warmer it became... until the clouds swelled & burst!
I must have been tired from the previous day(s)... we got to the end of the first trail, before realising I'd forgotten my helmut, so had to ride back the the womo to fetch it!
