City: Ljubljana
The location is central: between the train station and the castle.
Below some sights to see (which we didn't see on our last visit) and some travel options: ideal would be going in the Womo at the start of our SE-Europe tour!
These are some potential things to see on our way through Slovenia...
Zelške jame is part of the Rakov Škocjan Nature Reserve. The cave is accessible by public footpaths, and it is possible to visit the first part of the cave and walk from one polje to another as one of the footpaths crosses the caves in between.
The cave is part of a huge cave system which already started to collapse. Several parts of the cave are valleys today, called Polje. Other, very short parts of the cave are called natural bridges.
A beautiful river, valley and settlement in the Triglav National Park.
Between Gorica and Nova Gorica, on the Slovenian side of the Slovenian-Italian border, there is a 143 m. (470 ft.) hill on which stands the Church of the Annunciation of Mary along with its adjoining Franciscan monastery.
This sacred pilgrimage shrine on Kostanjevica, or on Kapela as the local people call it, is rich in history and treasures of the past. For the people living on both sides of the border, this is an oasis of greenery, peace and spirituality.
