Today we left the NC500 in order to visit the loevely Isle of Skye, which was a good 2 hour drive from Kinlochewe. 

The Talisker Distillery tour was booked out, but I kept trying and got a cancellation:for the 11:30 tour, which meant a fairly early start from Kinlochewe. It was well worth it! For responsible drivers (like myself), who really only nipped at the sample drams, mini bottles were provided to save the remainder to be enjoyed later.

After the distillery tour, we had lunch at Cafe Cull before driving to Dunvegan Castle. After a quick tour of castle and gardens, we drove to Portree and on up the east coast to catch a glimpse of the Old Man of Stoer, then took a few photos at the Sligachen Old Bridge, before heading back across the Kyle of Lochan bridge.

Eilean Donan looked magnifcent in the evening sun, but we were too tired to do the tour, so drove on towards Fort William, overnighting at the Pitstop burger bar in Kintail, at the head of Loch  Duich.
